DIRECTOR FOR ARTS AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS

 

Description 

Our mission is to connect artists of USA and China through exhibitions, artist exchanges and educational programs by his inspiring stewardship of the art world across the Pacific We are searching for a dynamic and visionary leader with entrepreneurial skills to be an advocate and ambassador for the USCN and guide the USCN into the next chapter of its development in the arts and cultural programs. 

You should be able to organize exhibitions for Chinese artists in the USA, and for the US artists in China while developing engaging programs that increase awareness of USCN’s arts and cultural activities in both countries. Fast forward one year from today, you will have been directly responsible for initiating substantial growth of the USCN’programs between the two countries.  As an innovative thinker and strategic leader, you will have expanded and strengthened ongoing ties by inspiring involvement, creating symbiotic relationships within the business community and corporate channels through win/win programs and will be nurturing and enthusiastic, supportive and cohesive team spirit within the organization. 

Requirements 

The successful candidate will have substantial hi-level contacts in major US museums, and a list of collectors and corporate sponsors. The candidate should have a track record of accomplishment in fundraising through multiple channels, including the ability to increase both earned and contributed income. Knowledge of nonprofit fiscal management and skill sets such as the ability to plan, set goals and objectives, organize, and follow through as well as a propensity to take action and do what is needed are also critical. This position will involve some international traveling to and from China each year.

Other qualifications include five years of applicable work experience, a bachelor’s degree in a related field as well as education or experience as to best practices for museum and collections management.
